Walter L. Pearson, Jr., former speaker/director for Breath of Life, passed to his rest on June 7, 2020. Pearson retired in 2010 after serving the Breath of Life media ministry for 12 years.

Only a few weeks after being threatened by wildfires, the northern California communities of Angwin and St. Helena are again facing fires that have caused thousands of people in those communities to evacuate. According to CALFIRE, the Glass Fire began at 4 a.m. on September 27, 2020, in an area to the west of Angwin and north of Deer Park and St. Helena.

On July 9, 2020, the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s General Conference Executive Committee met virtually to receive the name of G. Alexander Bryant, the recommendation for division president, from both the North American Division’s nominating committee and executive committee. Bryant was confirmed in a vote of 153 to 5.

After consultation with North American Division (NAD) administration, the youth directors of the nine unions in the NAD, additional consultation from local Oregon health officials, and a discussion and vote from the NAD Executive Committee (NADCOM), the NAD Youth Department is announcing the cancellation of the division-level 2020 Pathfinder Bible Experience (PBE) scheduled for April 17-18, 2020, in Salem, Oregon.

What could our churches do, in this moment? ... As I arrived at church, my attention was drawn to the sign that sits beside the road running past the church. Pulling into the parking lot, I felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit gently respond with the answer to my question: “Start with the sign.”

The General Conference (GC) Executive Committee will meet virtually on July 9 to receive the recommendation and elect the new NAD president.
