Sonscreen 2025 Brings Together 200+ Creatives to Celebrate Faith, Film, and Community
From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.

NAD's Carmela Monk Crawford, Message Magazine Editor, Receives Association of Adventist Women’s Outstanding Achievement Woman of the Year Award
On October 8, 2022, Carmela Monk Crawford, J.D., Message Magazine editor and Oakwood University alumna, was presented the Association of Adventist Women’s Woman of the Year Award for outstanding achievement at their 40th annual awards banquet in Loma Linda, California.
2022 North American Division Year-End Meeting Brings Leadership Changes in NADEI, Communication and Ministerial Departments
During the 2022 North American Division Year-End Meeting (NAD YEM), the NAD executive committee received the names of one director and an associate director as recommended by the North American Division’s standing nominating committee. The executive committee also recognized an additional new director for one of its institutions.
Pacific Union College Appoints Joy Hirdler Vice President for Financial Administration
Pacific Union College is pleased to announce Joy Hirdler as its new vice president for financial administration. Hirdler, a PUC alum, has served in various finance roles for more than 15 years at Seventh-day Adventist institutions across the nation, including nearly five years at PUC in a position that’s now known as associate vice president for financial administration.
Together in Worship: Time with God During the 2022 NAD Year-End Meetings
Though the theme for the 2022 Year-End Meetings for the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists (NAD) is “Together in Mission,” the church leaders gathered were also together in worship each morning. These worship sessions began with hymns, scripture, and special music before the sermon, each day presented by a different speaker.
