Communicators looking to sharpen their skills, expand their professional networks and connect with colleagues from across the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church are invited to register for the 2026 Society of Adventist Communicators (SAC) Convention, Oct. 15-17, in Orlando, Florida.

The early-bird registration rate of $379 ends Sunday, Aug. 16. And while full-price online registration is open until Oct. 14, the hotel discount extends only until Sept. 21.

Held at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, the annual convention will bring together communication professionals, students, and educators for industry-expert keynote presentations, workshops, networking, worship and other opportunities for professional and personal growth. This year’s program is being developed in partnership with AdventHealth.

“Our networking opportunities, workshops, and general sessions are all geared toward enhancing the professional communicator’s skills and experience while also providing our student attendees opportunities that will stretch them beyond what they experience in the classroom,” said Kimberly Luste Maran, North American Division communication director and SAC executive director. “Whether you’re in PR, marketing, social media, writing, design . . . we want you to come.”

SAC programming serves communicators working across a range of specialties, including public relations, marketing, journalism, social media, video, podcasting, photography, design and other creative fields. The convention also provides an opportunity to build relationships with communicators serving throughout the Adventist Church and beyond.

A major draw for the 2026 convention is its lineup of keynote and featured speakers, who will bring real-world expertise to some of the challenges communicators face today. Jason Dorsey, president of The Center for Generational Kinetics and a leading researcher on bridging generational divides, will deliver a keynote drawing on insights from more than 200 research studies he has led around the world. Eric Gray, co-founder and CEO of Maverick Content Studio, will lead an extended general session workshop on “Telling Your Brand Story,” informed by more than two decades of experience helping brands such as EA SPORTS, Universal Parks & Resorts, VISA, NBC Universal and Warner Brothers build and engage audiences. And Jeff Williamson, communications director for Orange County Government, will lead a general session on crisis communications, offering attendees insights from the public-sector communication arena. Together, the speakers reflect this year’s convention emphasis on practical, industry-informed learning that communicators can take back and apply to their organizations.

The convention will also provide specially tailored spiritual programming that combines worship with creative, engaging activities designed specifically for communicators. Friday and Saturday worship experiences will feature music and messages alongside interactive exercises that put a communication twist on familiar Bible stories — from telling stories entirely through emojis to navigating biblical scenarios as modern-day crisis communicators. The experiences are designed to create space for spiritual reflection, fellowship and fun while exploring the connections between faith, storytelling and the work of communication.

Last year, more than 225 professionals, students, educators and church leaders gathered at La Sierra University in Riverside, California, for SAC’s annual convention. Workshops explored topics ranging from social media and podcasting to branding, photography, media relations and digital storytelling.

For 2026, SAC is expanding access to its media tours, which will be open to all registered attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. The convention will also include opportunities to connect with exhibitors and employers, worship together and celebrate outstanding work through the annual SAC communication banquet and awards program.

Adventist college and university students are encouraged to attend and can register at a discounted rate, providing emerging communicators opportunities to learn from and network with established professionals.

“For the couple of decades I’ve been a part of SAC, I have seen many young adults gain employment opportunities from the connections made at the convention,” said Maran. “We spend a lot of time finding top-notch presentations to grow our communicators, but we love being able to provide a space for those connections.”

SAC president JeNean Lendor emphasized the personal connections at the heart of the gathering in a recent video invitation.

“I want you to be there at SAC 2026 in Orlando,” Lendor said. “It is such a great opportunity to grow professionally, and to be fed spiritually through enriching content crafted especially for those of us in communication. . . . I want you to be there in person. Register now. Register early. I want to see you there.”

Early-bird registration is $379 through Aug. 16. For convention information, the program and registration, visit AdventistCommunicator.com/register.
