NAD Administrators Affirm Work and Assess Needs During Visit to the Guam-Micronesia Mission
Beginning January 4, 2024, a North American Division administrative team visited several islands within the Guam-Micronesia Mission for two weeks. “We wanted to provide encouragement and do an assessment of needs and see how we could better support the work there,” said NAD president G. From March 22-30, 2025, a team of 19 students and five nursing faculty and staff from Pacific Union College provided physicals, well visits, and regular physician office and dental care to 311 patients in Mana, Fiji.
Chamber Winds Brazil Tour Gives Students Opportunity to Connect
It was oboist Afonso Bittencourt Brito’s first time back in his native Brazil since leaving 18 months earlier to study at La Sierra University. During spring break in March, he toured the South American nation and visited his hometown as a member of a La Sierra University Chamber Winds quintet that gave performances and master classes.

Southern Adventist University’s School of Education and Psychology recently hosted two distinguished delegates from Ukraine. The campus welcomed Valeriia Palii, Ph.D., president of the National Psychological Association of Ukraine (NPAU), and Olena Vladovska, chief operating officer of Angelia Medical Center, a Ukrainian Seventh-day Adventist clinic.
John Wesley Taylor V Elected as Seventh President of Andrews University
On March 7, 2023, the executive session of the Andrews University Board of Trustees elected John Wesley Taylor V to serve as the seventh president of Andrews University (and 25th president overall since Andrews University first began as Battle Creek College in 1874). Taylor will serve as the next Andrews University president and will continue to fulfill the "Legacy of Leadership" that is a hallmark of the university and is the inscription on the J.N. Andrews sculpture in front of Pioneer Memorial Church on the Berrien Springs campus.
The North American Division Joins the 2023-2024 "The Great Controversy" Project Initiative
During the Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries International Convention in Aug. 2021, GC president Ted N.C. Wilson announced an initiative to distribute copies of The Great Controversy worldwide. As 2023 begins, the NAD is encouraging members to participate in a special new approach to distribution.
