The North American Division’s HeSaidGoXP conference, hosted by its Office of Volunteer Ministries at Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas, on March 12-14, 2026, took a practical approach to engaging members of Generation Z in mission through local community service opportunities.

On Sabbath, March 13, a small group of attendees volunteered at the Tarrant Area Food Bank, joining Pastor Heidi Jackson and young adult elders-in-training from the REVIVE Community Care ministry of the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church. Together, they sorted, processed, and prepared 13,167 pounds of food for distribution to local agencies.

The food bank has partnered with the Arlington Church for more than 15 years, donating thousands of pounds of food to its REVIVE Food Pantry. “Without their faithful work in our community,” reflected Jackson, “many food pantries would not be able to help people in need on a regular basis.”

Rather than being a one-off activity, this project introduced conference participants to a partnership-based model of community outreach that they can apply to their local contexts. As they worked under the leadership of the elders-in-training, they experienced first-hand what young people can achieve when they work together and accept Jesus’ call to mission.
