For years, White Memorial Seventh-day Adventist Church in Los Angeles, California, was viewed as the church that did not care. In January 2025, everything changed. On Tuesday, January 7, during their week of prayer, Arteaga and his leaders experienced three blackouts from heavy winds. The next morning, they awoke to “images that the city we love, our mission field, our home, was on fire,” Arteaga shared at the 2025 eHuddle — an evangelism and leadership think tank hosted by the North American Division (NAD) Ministerial Association from Feb. 24 to 26 at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

César and Carolann De León Elected to Lead North American Division's Family Ministries Department
On June 27, 2023, the North American Division's (NAD) executive committee elected César and Carolann De León to lead the Family Ministries department. The De Leóns will serve as director and associate director, replacing Claudio and Pamela Consuegra, who were in the same respective roles and retired on March 31, 2023, after serving the division for nearly 12.5 years, beginning in October 2010.

That’s a Wrap!
The two weeks following the end of the 2023 academic school year were not a quiet summer respite for 14 communication students at Walla Walla University. Instead, the days, and sometimes late nights, were filled with costumes, cameras, and a clapperboard. The communication students were helping on set during the production of a short film, “The Color of Threads,” produced by the WWU Center for Media Ministry.

It began weeks and months out as the organizing team had been preparing for what would soon be the arrival of 300 pastors from across Canada, with our visitors totaling 500 people, including families, presenters, and exhibitors for the SDACC Ministerial Summit.
