Year-End Meeting Ministry Video Reports

November 3, 2025

by NAD Office of Communication

Columbia, Md.

Each year, the ministry departments present how God has blessed their ministry efforts and report their stewardship of the resources entrusted to them. These Year-End Meeting reports showcase the diverse ways the North American Division has worked over the last five years to fulfill our mission—reaching North America and the world with the distinctive, Christ-centered, Seventh-day Adventist message of hope and wholeness. This page will be updated as more ministries present over the coming days.

Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries

Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries (ACM) serves as the NAD’s ecclesiastical endorsing body, affirming individuals to represent the denomination in specialized settings beyond local congregations. In 2024, ACM underwent successful restructuring, taking on its current form of three associate directors and an endorsement specialist and streamlining processes for quicker turnaround times. Currently, over 900 endorsed Seventh-day Adventist chaplains serve across North America in five distinct disciplines, with more than 300 chaplains endorsed over the past three years—a 33% increase since 2022. ACM collaborates with seminaries to create pathways for those pursuing chaplaincy careers while introducing new initiatives, including clinical bioethics specialization, enhanced digital platforms, and campus chaplaincy competencies. The team conducts on-site visits, offers professional development training on ethics and leadership, and ensures endorsement standards align with leading organizations, including the Department of Defense and Federal Bureau of Prisons, bringing hope and wholeness to those seeking spiritual and moral support.

Adventist Community Services (ACS)

Over the past five years, Adventist Community Services (ACS) has demonstrated Christ’s love by responding to unprecedented needs during the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, and ongoing social challenges. When the pandemic created surging demand, ACS adapted with drive-through food distributions and virtual spiritual care, while certifying over 200 emotional and spiritual care providers to address the growing epidemic of loneliness. The division awarded $4.4 million in grants to strengthen ACS centers and church programs, creating welcoming spaces where communities can be better served. As disasters have grown more frequent, ACS teams have opened emergency shelters, delivered supplies, and partnered in rebuilding efforts, becoming a trusted resource for state agencies and communities in crisis. Looking ahead, ACS is expanding opportunities for young adult service and building holistic programs that demonstrate that when the church comes together in Jesus’ name, all things become possible.

Communication

The North American Division Communication department serves as brand caretakers, storytellers, and mentors, seeking to inspire and serve by sharing how God is working through his people and by equipping others to do the same. Major accomplishments include launching a redesigned, seeker-friendly website with enhanced search capabilities and producing the Pentecost 2025 documentary series “Faith at Work: Stories of Service and Hope” to inspire creative ministry across the division. The department provides comprehensive media coverage through Adventist Journey magazine and the award-winning NAD Newspoints e-news service, while fostering young adult creativity through the Sunscreen Film Festival and its expanding streaming platform. Through the Society of Adventist Communicators convention and ongoing support services, the team offers training, public relations, crisis communication, and marketing support to help share stories of how God is working through the North American Division.

Children’s Ministry

Children’s Ministries is helping children discover what it means to know and love Jesus through the “Alive in Jesus” Sabbath School curriculum, providing comprehensive training to union and conference leaders in English, Spanish, and French. To ensure all age groups launch together, beginners will repeat year A in 2026, while three new free resources are being developed by December 2025 to enhance Grace Link and Real Time Faith materials for juniors and teens with video scripture verses, updated challenges, and creative art center ideas. The department is equipping families with Bible studies that empower parents as spiritual leaders, while partnering with AdventSource on Vacation Bible School programs that sent out over 1,100 VBS kits this year—creating spaces where children run into church and don’t want to leave. Through these efforts, Children’s Ministries serves local church leaders in their joyful mission of helping children say yes to Jesus.

Education

The NAD Office of Education has remained faithful to leading students into deeper relationships with Jesus while navigating global challenges and advancing excellence in Christian education through the Journey to Excellence 2.0 framework. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, educators responded with resilience, pivoting to remote learning while launching a Mental Health website and manual to support emotional and spiritual well-being, reminding educators they were not alone. Significant innovation strengthened student learning through standards-based learning (SBL), the redesigned NAD Education website, early childhood resources including infant-toddler curriculum, the REACH manual for exceptional learners, union-level cybersecurity initiatives, and AE Connect student information system—now adopted by nearly one-third of schools. Professional development initiatives included virtual multi-grade conferences, PLC training videos, small school leadership coaching, teacher recruitment programs, and the grand 2023 NAD Educators Convention in Phoenix that brought thousands together to worship and be inspired. This school year, 852 schools and early childhood programs are shaping 74,975 students guided by 10,045 dedicated teachers who see their work as a calling, with virtual programs extending reach to 2,014 additional students globally—all working to nurture thinkers who serve with integrity, live with compassion, and lead with faith.

Family Ministries

Family Ministries proclaims that relationality is the vehicle God uses to save and transform humanity. Guided by the “Connect to Live: Displaying Christ in Our Relationships” model and survey responses from union and conference family ministry leaders revealing the urgent need for trauma-informed resources addressing the mental health crisis, Family Ministries has created books, videos, articles, and seminars presented throughout the NAD territory. Resources include three English books—”Overcoming Adversity and Building Healthy Relationships” and two Bible studies for men, “Men of Valor and Courage” and “Men Under Construction”—plus a Spanish book “Construyendo Relaciones Sanas,” 104 one-minute videos in English and Spanish for social media and church services, and a 10-part Spanish video series on Esperanza TV. The department has also partnered with Hope Channel’s “Real Family Talk” and “Hope at Night,” plus 3ABN and 3ABN Latino, to share messages reminding families that the quality of our relationships is the greatest evidence of the gospel’s work in our hearts and remains the most effective vehicle God uses to connect people to each other and to Himself.

Higher Education

Adventist higher education is thriving with enrollment increases for three consecutive years—the first growth in a decade—as 13 colleges and universities unite to fulfill the church’s mission more effectively together. The institutions are collaborating through a unified NAD higher education website, shared services, expanded online learning, and coordinated mission trips, while Adventist Colleges Abroad offers transformative language programs in seven languages and is launching global internships in 2026. Recent research reveals that Adventist college alumni are five times more likely to have faculty model spiritual life, three times more likely to deepen their religious understanding, and twice as likely to integrate faith into daily living compared to Adventist students at public universities. With a passion for young people reaching their full potential as Christian professionals, these institutions ask the church to partner with them in encouraging young people to discover how Adventist higher education can be transformative in their lives.

Literature Ministries

Literature Ministries reported that book sales remain strong with 767 million books sold in America in 2023—an increase of 119 million since 2004—and print books still representing 73% of sales, while 75% of magazine readers prefer print for its credibility and trust. Student literature evangelists consistently bring millions in donations to Adventist schools while sharing message books, building confidence, and discovering calls to pastoral ministry through canvassing. The department distributes approximately 2.5 million outreach magazines and 2.2 million tracts annually from Signs of the Times, Message, Vibrant Life, and El Centinela, while GLOW has spread 175 million tracts worldwide since 2007. Behind the numbers are transformative stories: a teenager approached with Message magazine led his entire family to baptism; Ivan Martinez left gangs through The Great Controversy and now leads literature ministry in Kentucky-Tennessee; and many current conference presidents, evangelists, and departmental directors received their ministry calling while canvassing, demonstrating that literature ministry remains a proven pathway for developing future church leaders and bringing people closer to Jesus.

Ministerial Association

The Ministerial Association empowers the ministerial community to lead churches in reaching their world for Christ , guided by seven core qualities of effective pastoral ministry. The MA in Pastoral Ministry program has grown to 269 students, with graduates serving at all levels of church organization. Over the past five years, nearly 200,000 people have found new life in Jesus through baptism, while church planters launched over 500 new churches, supported by HEAL evangelism gatherings and 20+ boot camps training thousands in evangelism and church revitalization. The department serves over 5,000 pastoral spouses through specialized resources including mentorship guides and a grief support group ministry providing care during seasons of loss. In partnership with the Adventist Learning Community, the association has produced nearly 200 courses and over 5,000 video resources, along with an online assessment tool, comprehensive ordination guide, and curriculum collaboration committee ensuring excellence in pastoral preparation from classroom to field.

Youth and Young Adult Ministry

Youth and Young Adult Ministries help young people know Jesus deeply through two interconnected ministries: Club Ministries (Adventurers, Pathfinders, Master Guides) and Youth Ministries (Young Adults, Public Camp Ministries, and Camp Ministries). Adventurer Family ministry continues growing with new resources, while thousands of Pathfinders annually study Scripture for the Pathfinder Bible Experience (PBE), and the Master Guide ministry celebrated its 100-year anniversary with a 2022 convention and the first-ever NAD Master Guide Camporee in 2025, drawing over 2,000 participants. New initiatives include the PK Conference for pastors’ kids at the Called convention, Plug In events through the Adventist Public High School Network, and Do It Together Sabbath School training that equips leaders across all ages. This year also marked 100 years of summer camp ministry, where God has drawn hearts to Jesus through worship, friendships, and nature. Through collaboration with multiple NAD departments, Youth and Young Adult Ministries multiplies its impact as one team, together in mission.
