It Is Written, a media evangelism ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, will host a grand opening of its new ministry headquarters in Collegedale, Tennessee, on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, from 12 to 3 p.m. The event will feature a dedication, a ribbon cutting, an open house, ministry tours, giveaways, and refreshments. 

The 2017 Before We Call Them Strangers: What Adventists Ought to Know about Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus, by Paul Dybdahl, Walla Walla University professor of mission and New Testament, will be offered as three separate books, one on each religion highlighted in the original book.

AdventHealth’s Board of Directors has elected Ron C. Smith to serve as chair during its most recent quarterly Board meeting. Smith assumes responsibilities immediately, replacing Gary Thurber after he served a two-year term as board chair.

Christian Record Services for the Blind (CRS), a ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America, has extended access to its proprietary online library to all of the divisions outside North America. This includes several different reading formats, including audio streaming, large electronic print and refreshable Braille.

A new study from Faith Counts, a nonprofit, multifaith organization, led by sociologist Dr. Brian Grim of Baylor University and published in the Journal of Religion and Health, looks at the role of religious and spiritual faith in preventing and recovering from substance use disorder.

On Thursday, September 5, 2019, the Andrews University Press will release for sale the long-awaited New International Version (NIV) of the landmark Andrews Study Bible. In addition, nearly 700 new students at Andrews will receive a complimentary copy from the university, continuing a tradition that began in 2011, but now takes place for the first time with the NIV.

Organizers state that the September 2019 conference is “a perfect complement to Sonscreen, geared to more advanced filmmakers who want to learn how to finance and distribute their film projects.”

On Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada Board of Directors elected Wesley Torres as its new executive secretary/vice president for administration. He replaces Daniel Stojanovic, who is now, by appointment of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the leader of the Adventist Church’s work in Israel.
