Hispanic leaders and coordinators from across the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists (NAD) convened September 9-11, 2025, at the Marriott Fort Collins in Colorado for the annual Hispanic Ministry Convention, focusing on strategic planning and spiritual development for the growing Hispanic church community.

The convention, titled “Pentecost 2025,” brought together pastors, coordinators, and ministry leaders from all nine unions spanning the United States and Canada for three intensive days of workshops, worship, and collaborative planning.

Growing Ministry Impact

Statistical presentations revealed the remarkable scope of Hispanic Ministry within the NAD. This ministry now encompasses 1,157 congregations, 458 companies, and 287 organized groups, serving a total membership of 263,495, with 38,060 baptisms recorded in recent data for year-end 2024.

The nine union coordinators leading the convention represent the full geographic reach of Hispanic ministry across North America: Henry Beras (Atlantic Union), Gardner Bermúdez (Canadian Union), Rubén Ramos (Columbia Union), Carmelo Mercado (Lake Union), Roberto Correa (Mid-America Union), Alberto Ingleton (Pacific Union), Peter Simpson (North Pacific Union), Julio Chazarreta (Southern Union), and Osvaldo Rigacci (Southwestern Union). These coordinators presented workshops and led strategic discussions throughout the convention, sharing insights from their respective regions and collaborating on division-wide initiatives.

New Publications Dedicated

New Pacific Press Spanish-language publications for 2026 were introduced during Wednesday’s sessions. These publications, dedicated to the Lord, feature books by prominent authors including Eliezer Graterol, Andrés Samuel Reyes, Fernando Castro, Gardner Bermúdez, and Henry Beras. They address topics ranging from identity and purpose to discipleship and evangelism, providing resources specifically designed for Hispanic Adventist communities.

Weekend Fellowship

Following the intensive three-day conference schedule, participants enjoyed a team-building day on Friday, September 12, with organized tours and fellowship activities around the Fort Collins, Colorado area. This experience provided ministry leaders opportunities for informal relationship building and relaxation after the concentrated program sessions.

Strategic Planning Results

The convention was a spiritual retreat and practical planning session for the next phase of Hispanic ministry expansion across North America. Workshop discussions centered on sustainable growth strategies, leadership development, and innovative approaches to community engagement in diverse cultural contexts.

With over 260,000 Hispanic Seventh-day Adventists now part of the North American Division, the September 9-11 sessions provided essential coordination between regional leadership and established frameworks for continued ministry development and church planting initiatives throughout 2025 and beyond.

The gathering demonstrated the strength of collaborative ministry planning while maintaining focus on spiritual growth and evangelistic outreach within Hispanic communities from coast to coast.
