On July 20, 2026, the North American Division (NAD) elected Andrew Choi to serve as the administrator of the North American Division Retirement Plans, filling the vacancy left by Edwin G. Romero, who answered a call to serve in the Southern Union Conference. Choi was also elected associate treasurer for the NAD. He started at the division on May 1, 2021 as the associate administrator/chief financial officer (CFO) for the retirement plans.

“Andrew’s experience has provided him with an understanding of our retirement plans from the perspectives of a participant, an employer, and the retirement plan. These perspectives, along with his financial expertise and leadership experience, will be invaluable to him as the administrator,” said Judy R. Glass, NAD treasurer/CFO and Adventist Retirement Plans board chair. “I look forward to continuing to work with Andrew as he steps into this new role.”

Choi came to the NAD office from the nearby Chesapeake Conference of Seventh-day Adventists where he had been employed from 2001-2021, most recently as associate treasurer and auditor.

“We are pleased that Andrew has been selected to serve in this new role,” G. Alexander Bryant, NAD president said. “Throughout his years of denominational work, he has been a faithful steward of God’s resources. In his previous role as retirement plans CFO, he developed an in-depth understanding of the various plans administered by the NAD. We are blessed to have him in this role.”

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Choi also spent six years in Brazil as part of a missionary family. He is multi-lingual — fluent in Korean and English, and able to communicate in Portuguese and Spanish. He has an MBA from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and a B.S. in accounting from Atlantic Union College (South Lancaster, Massachusetts). In addition to conference treasury work, Choi has extensive experience as an academy business manager, having served at three academies in the Northeast. He and his wife, Paula, have been married for 32 years and have one daughter, Abby, who is married to Zach.

“I am deeply humbled and grateful for the confidence that has been placed in me to serve as administrator of Adventist Retirement,” said Choi. “While I recognize there is much work ahead, I am excited for the opportunities before us. I look forward to working alongside our outstanding team, and I trust that, with God’s guidance, we will continue to strengthen our ministry and faithfully serve those who have dedicated their lives to His work.”
