The North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists (NAD) announces that Philip Baptiste has resigned from his position as secretary/treasurer of Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI), effective October 4, 2025. Baptiste dedicated nearly eight years of service to ASI, serving four terms in this role. An interim plan is in place while the NAD and ASI leadership work through the transition process.
ASI holds its officer elections at the biennial business meeting during its convention. The most recent election took place at the ASI Convention business meeting on July 30-August 1, 2025. Chaired by G. Alexander Bryant, NAD president, ASI members elected Danny Houghton on July 30 to serve as president for the 2025–2027 term. On August 1, the ASI body confirmed the election of several members-at-large and a slate of ASI vice presidents, including James Hartley, as general vice president; and five vice presidents, Curtis Letniak, Ryan Booth, Sharmini Long, Greg Perry, and Robert Hunsaker.
ASI is a unique and diverse group of members ranging from business owners to individual professionals to supporting ministries, all committed to supporting the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its various outreach programs, including health, education, evangelism, community services, family concerns, and special projects.
