Rooted in the Word: Scripture Comes Alive at the 2025 NAD Pathfinder Bible Experience
From April 25 to 26, more than 3,000 Pathfinders, supporters, and volunteers packed the arena in historic Battle Creek, Michigan, for a weekend of worship, Bible knowledge testing, and celebration. And on Sabbath, April 26, 185 teams — the second highest number ever — gathered in person from across North America and beyond. Four teams joined virtually.

Lessons for the Living
I have a confession to make. I have a habit, some might call it a morbid one, but wherever I go, whatever city I’m visiting, I will find myself in the oldest cemetery in town, walking among the dead. I can go to a cemetery, and stay for two hours, three hours, and I walk up and down reading the tombstones. I like to ponder: Who was this person? What was their life?

Help Provided in St. Louis After Tornado Strike
On May 16, 2025, a powerful EF-3 tornado tore through St. Louis, Missouri, and continued into Madison County, Illinois, reaching wind speeds of up to 152 mph and spanning 22.8 miles. NAD Adventist Community Services (ACS) is partnering with the Mid-America Union Conference, local churches, civic leaders, and other Adventist entities to provide ongoing disaster relief.

Spreading an Evangelism Net
As Adventists today embrace Pentecost 2025 it is important to remember some cutting-edge innovations for Adventist outreach and evangelism that took place during the 1990s. Some three decades later it may be difficult to fully appreciate just how new (and at times even startling) these efforts were. Such discussions began in 1993 when the North American Division (NAD) leadership participated in a series of satellite broadcasts with the newly formed Adventist Communication Network.

2024 Pathfinder Bible Experience Promotes Faith, Community, and Service
More than 2,500 Pathfinders, supporters, and volunteers packed the Island Grove Event Center in snowy Greeley, Colorado, from April 19-20, 2024, for the final stage of the NAD’s test of Bible knowledge during the Pathfinder Bible Experience. Of the 165 registered teams, 127 competed live, 11 joined virtually, and one participated in a hybrid format, with all teams focusing on the biblical books of Joshua and Judges.

Oakwood President Appointed as Member of the Executive Committee of the American Council on Education Inaugural Commission on Faith-based Universities
On May 16, 2024, Oakwood University president Leslie Pollard was officially invited by Clark Gilbert, commissioner of the Church Educational System of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and co-chair of the American Council on Education’s (ACE) inaugural Commission on Faith-based Universities, to join the inaugural executive committee for this newly formed advocacy organization.

Announcement: Arne P. Nielsen, NAD Vice President for Education, Passes to His Rest
We are deeply saddened to share that Arne P. Nielsen, North American Division vice president for education, passed to his rest this morning, June 3, 2024, after several days of dealing with complications from an acute illness. The family asks for privacy at this time as they grieve this very unexpected loss.

Pentecost 2025 Initiative Voted by the North American Division Executive Committee
On May 29, 2024, the North American Division Executive Committee has voted to approve Pentecost 2025, an initiative to be launched for church leaders and members alike to seek the Holy Spirit’s power and mobilize for evangelism with the goal of holding at least 3,000 proclamation initiatives division wide in 2025. Starting in July, Adventists with approval from their church board can sign up to be part of Pentecost 2025, with the option to apply for startup funds.
