Today marks 25 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, when nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in New York City, at the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Let’s remember in our prayers the many people whose lives were forever changed by the events of that day—especially those who lost loved ones. We honor the first responders, including the many who gave their lives in service to others, and the courageous passengers and crew of United Flight 93, whose sacrifice helped save additional lives.

Even as we reflect on this profound loss, let us hold fast to the hope God gives us. He sustains us in times of sorrow and offers a peace the world cannot provide.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, NIV).

May we remember. May we pray. And may we continue to be people of compassion, courage, and hope.
