NAD President and First Lady Share Holiday Video Message for 2023

Says G. Alexander Bryant, "We want to remind you that Immanuel is with you — no matter what you're going through. This time of the year can be so lonely for so many. But the very essence of the season is Immanuel, which says, 'Jesus is near.'"

NAD president G. Alexander Bryant and NAD Ministerial Spouses director Desiree Bryant share a timely holiday video message as 2023 nears its conclusion.

Below is a transcript of the Bryants’ message, edited slightly for clarity.

Both: "Seasons’ greetings and … happy holidays to our North American Division family!

G. Alexander Bryant: "In a time of wars, political divisions, cultural disputes, cynicism, and loneliness, the message of Jesus, even in this season is peace on earth, goodwill toward men.

Desiree Bryant: "That is why I love this time of the year. It reminds us that Jesus came to a world in the middle of a chaotic time, just like this, to speak to the challenges of the day. It invites us to stop and remember that God cares and He is present with us.

GAB: "Immanuel means 'God is present with us.' He is here. It doesn't take away the circumstances of life, however, it's a reminder that the challenges of life don't eclipse His presence.

DB: "Some of you today may be experiencing loneliness, or like us may be reminded of the loss of a loved one, or friend, or some other loss. We lost Traven, our middle son, this year. We miss him dearly, and it is painful. Like us, you may be carrying some pain from some momentous event, however, we want to say that [that] doesn't eclipse the incredible assurance that God is present with us.

GAB: "During this season, we want to remind you that Immanuel, Jesus, is with you — no matter what you're going through. This time of the year can be so lonely for so many. But the very essence of the season is Immanuel, which says, 'Jesus is not distant. He is near.'

DB: "So, to our entire North American Division Family, let's remember not only to share the gift of Jesus with someone, which could mean reaching out to someone who doesn't have anyone to share Christmas with, or looking out for a family or a person that is less fortunate. In that way, we can be His presence.

GAB: "But also after a challenging year, may each of us receive the gift — Immanuel, 'God with us' — and let His presence fill our hearts and our minds with peace and contentment, eclipsing the challenges of life. May His presence bring you peace on earth and goodwill toward men.

DB: "May God abundantly bless and keep you and your loved ones throughout this holiday season.

Both: "Have a happy and blessed New Year!"
