AdventHealth has named Garrett Caldwell vice president of mission integration, effective Feb. 9. In this role, Caldwell will help ensure AdventHealth’s faith-based mission is lived consistently across the organization, strengthening how care is delivered to people in body, mind, and spirit. He will report to Tim Cook, senior vice president and chief mission integration officer.

Caldwell will lead mission integration efforts across AdventHealth, partnering with local leaders to bring the mission to life in meaningful, practical ways. His work will advance understanding of AdventHealth’s strategic mission pillars, guide mission resources such as the “Rooted in Faith” Spiritual Connections Series and CREATION Life and strengthen relationships with Seventh-day Adventist Church leaders locally and nationally.

“Garrett has a unique ability to connect our faith-based mission with the everyday experiences of our team members and the people we serve,” Cook said. “His leadership helps ensure our mission is not only clearly understood but consistently lived as we extend the healing ministry of Christ and help people feel whole.”

Caldwell joined AdventHealth more than six years ago to launch stakeholder communications, strengthening relationships with Seventh-day Adventist sponsor and constituency audiences across the system. Later, as executive director of external communications, he supported Seventh-day Adventist Church members and leaders worldwide and helped advance media relations that fostered shared understanding of AdventHealth’s mission and purpose. Prior to AdventHealth, Caldwell held senior communications and public affairs roles in higher education, health care and faith-based organizations, including the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Loma Linda University Health and California State University, Chico.

“My first day at AdventHealth was spent at the Conference on Mission in 2019, an experience that grounded me in what truly drives this organization,” Caldwell said. “Mission is the thread that connects our people, our work and our calling to help others feel whole. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside leaders who are committed to stewarding that purpose with care and humility.”

Caldwell holds a Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Andrews University and a Bachelor of Arts in communications and theology from Oakwood University. He serves on the boards of the Society of Adventist Communicators and Journalism for Adventist Solutions.

Outside of work, Caldwell enjoys pizza making, backyard grilling, and scenic drives. He and his wife, Cheryl, have been married for 38 years and have two adult children.
