Rooted in the Word: Scripture Comes Alive at the 2025 NAD Pathfinder Bible Experience

From April 25 to 26, more than 3,000 Pathfinders, supporters, and volunteers packed the arena in historic Battle Creek, Michigan, for a weekend of worship, Bible knowledge testing, and celebration. And on Sabbath, April 26, 185 teams — the second highest number ever — gathered in person from across North America and beyond. Four teams joined virtually.

Lessons for the Living

I have a confession to make. I have a habit, some might call it a morbid one, but wherever I go, whatever city I’m visiting, I will find myself in the oldest cemetery in town, walking among the dead. I can go to a cemetery, and stay for two hours, three hours, and I walk up and down reading the tombstones. I like to ponder: Who was this person? What was their life?

Help Provided in St. Louis After Tornado Strike

On May 16, 2025, a powerful EF-3 tornado tore through St. Louis, Missouri, and continued into Madison County, Illinois, reaching wind speeds of up to 152 mph and spanning 22.8 miles. NAD Adventist Community Services (ACS) is partnering with the Mid-America Union Conference, local churches, civic leaders, and other Adventist entities to provide ongoing disaster relief.

Community health is a crucial element of nursing that takes place beyond the hospital setting. “The goal of community health is to improve the overall health and well-being of communities,” says John Singletary, instructor at Southern Adventist University’s School of Nursing. “By meeting physical and spiritual needs, we help create a stronger, healthier, and more connected community where everyone can thrive.”

Evangelist Jim Gilley Passes to His Rest

​​​​​​​James William “Jim” Gilley, a former vice president of the North American Division and president of the Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN), passed to his rest on Dec. 28, 2022, in Clermont, Florida, after a month-long battle with COVID-19 pneumonia and Legionnaires’ disease. He was 82.

Breath of Life Speaker Leads Week of Prayer at Andrews University.

On January 23-27, 2023, Pastor Debleaire Snell, speaker/director of Breath of Life was invited to be the guest speaker for the Andrews University Week of Prayer. The theme was "Get Unrealistic," named after his most recent book about how faith frees us from life's limitations. Hundreds of students gathered daily to get a spiritual boost as the spring semester began.

Survivor of 1963 Birmingham Church Bombing Shares Her Story With Pacific Union College Community

On January 12, 2023, nearly 60 years after surviving the Birmingham Church bombing that killed her older sister and two friends, Sarah Collins Rudolph told her story to Pacific Union College (PUC) students. Rudolph was the featured guest for a special Community on Thursday commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Southwestern Adventist University’s Adaptive Physical Activity Lab: A Hands-on Service Opportunity for Kinesiology Students

Dr. Paulino Santos, chair of the Department of Kinesiology at Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU), threw a party at the end of his Adaptive Physical Activity class for his students and their participants. Young participants with disabilities from the surrounding churches and the community came to celebrate their accomplishments with their student therapists at the end of an eight-week lab in Santos’s Adaptive Physical Activity class.
