NAD 2021 Year-End Meeting Together in Mission Group Discussion Questions

Listed below are the discussion questions used during the 2021 NAD Year End Meetings that delegates responded to during the breakout sessions. In early 2022, NAD leadership sent this same list of questions to student leader groups at each of the colleges and universities within the division in early 2022. Students were asked to gather a group of peers to discuss the questions, record the responses most agreed upon by consensus, and submit them to NAD leadership.*

Questions – Multiply:

  1. How can we increase members’ involvement in the mission of the church?

  2. How can we increase disciples into the church?

  3. How can we multiply our impact/influence in the community?

  4. What are the opportunities to collaborate more synergistically with entities such as medical institutions?

  5. How can we multiply the ministries of Jesus on the multiple levels of the church?

  6. How can my entity multiply the ministry of Christ?

  7. Shall our methodology change in a post-COVID world? If so, how?

Questions – Media: To explore opportunities to network and collaborate across all organizations, finding ways in which we can maximize and expand our utilization of media. This is an area where we can really allow our youth and young adults to help lead the way.

  1. What attributes do you believe currently are associated with the Adventist brand in North America?

  2. Is my union, conference, local church, school, or entity maximizing the power of media? If so, how?

  3. List your best ideas on how we can best brand the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

  4. How can our church entities best collaborate to tell a bigger, better story?

  5. How can we encourage our members to use their social media accounts as evangelistic outreach?

Questions – Mentorship: To collaborate with entities in creating an intentional leadership development plan for leaders

  1. How are we equipping the next generation of leaders?

  2. Who is your Timothy or Teresa?

  3. How do you find someone to intentionally mentor?

  4. In a constituency-based system, how can we still prepare leaders for tomorrow?

* NAD Youth and Young Adult Ministries continues to facilitate meetings throughout the year between young adults and division leaders on a variety of topics, including the themes of "Student Voice on Relevant Young Adult Topics" and "Understanding NAD Structures and how to Impact Them."
