It was oboist Afonso Bittencourt Brito’s first time back in his native Brazil since leaving 18 months earlier to study at La Sierra University. During spring break in March, he toured the South American nation and visited his hometown as a member of a La Sierra University Chamber Winds quintet that gave performances and master classes.

Voices of Hope in the Desert: Diné Adventist Radio Launches First FM Station

On March 19, 2025, at precisely 4:24 p.m., the airwaves above Kaibeto, Arizona, came alive with a message of hope. Diné Adventist Radio's first full-power FM station—KDHH 89.5 FM—went live, reaching listeners across Tuba City, Kaibeto, and the Western Agency of the Navajo Nation. It was a quiet but powerful breakthrough for a project years in the making.

As It Celebrates 50 years, AdventHealth Altamonte Springs Expands to Serve Seminole County’s Growing Population

In 1973, AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, formerly known as Florida Hospital Altamonte, opened for Seminole County residents with three doctors, 104 beds, and mostly volunteers pitching in to help. Today, the hospital has 393 beds, 385 doctors, and 2,085 team members. Seminole County had a population of 122,000 in 1973, but it is now more than 485,000 and it continues to grow.

Andrews University and Atlantic Union College Corporation Board Sign Agreement of Intent

Members of the Atlantic Union College (AUC) Corporation Board recently met with representatives from Andrews University to witness the signing of an Agreement of Intent between the two entities. Pierre E. Omeler, AUC Corporation Board president, and Andrea Luxton, Andrews University president, signed the agreement on May 18, 2023, to “establish a general understanding of intent to promote academic and spiritual collaboration between the institutions.”

For More Than 160 Adventist Communicators, 2023 GAiN Americas Convention Spotlights Technology, Collaboration, and Mission for Greater Impact

The 2023 Global Adventist Internet Ministry (GAiN) convention, held June 7-11 at the North American Division (NAD) headquarters in Columbia, Maryland, brought together more than 160 communicators and leaders from the North American, Inter-American, and South American divisions. Sessions were conducted in English, with live Spanish interpretation.
