Armando Miranda Jr is a Pathfinder at heart! Since 2015, he has served as the Associate Youth and Young Adult Director at the North American Division, overseeing the Club Ministries Area.
Armando was born and raised in Mexico and comes from a ministerial home where he learned to love ministry. During High School, he was inspired to become a pastor. He graduated from Southwestern Adventist University with a Bachelor of Science in Theology. During his college years, he developed a strong interest in working with youth. He worked in Nameless Valley Summer Camp in Texas and as a Volunteer Youth Pastor at the Alvarado Church in Alvarado, Texas.
As a youth pastor at the Central del Valle Church in McAllen, TX and knowing the impact that Club Ministries has in a church, he provided strong support to the Maranatha Pathfinder and Adventurer club leaders.
He received Master’s degree in Divinity from Andrews University, where he graduated in the winter of 2007.
After Seminary, he served as Senior Pastor for the Brownsville and San Benito Church for three years. He has always believed that club ministries are a powerful ministry to invigorate churches. He helped reestablish the Pathfinder Club that had been non-existent for at least seven years.
He then served as Senior pastor of Northwest SDA Church in Houston, where he also provided strong support to the Pathfinder Club and Adventurer Club.
He was called to serve at the Texas Conference, as the ministry leader for the Club Ministries program of the Conference. He enjoyed working with committed Adventurer, Pathfinder and Master Guide leaders in all their area campouts, Conference camporees, trainings, and leadership councils.
He received his Doctor in Ministry degree, with an emphasis in Leadership from Andrews University in the summer of 2026.
He has been happily married to his wife Karen since 2004, and they share the joy of being the parents of three children.
Ministry philosophy:
- Investing in youth is the way to bring life to the church.
- Club ministries are an evangelistic method that every church should have.
- There is nothing to lose by involving and helping young people in the church, but there is so much to lose if we don’t.
His vision is for all young people to come to a knowledge of Christ and to be ready for when He comes a second time.
