Southern Adventist University Partners with Community in Prayer
More than 300 Christians in the Collegedale, Tennessee, community gathered on the Southern Adventist University campus for six consecutive evenings in May to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.

AdventHealth for Children has gifted $1 million to Orlando Science Center, supporting the organization’s Unlock Science Campaign and creating new exhibits, experiences, and educational programs to provide high-quality STEM experiences for individuals in the Central Florida community.
No Student Left Hungry
Judy Miles, retired adjunct business professor at Southwestern Adventist University, runs a campus food pantry for students who need extra groceries in order to get by. “No student should go to school hungry,” says Miles. “Students should not sit in class with their stomach growling." Many faculty and staff members contribute financially through monthly payroll deductions, as well as volunteering their time and donating pantry items.

A new resource from Adventist Information Ministry (AIM) – the evangelistic contact center of the North American Division – and Adventist Learning Community (ALC), provides an opportunity for those longing for fellowship and Bible study as many churches continue operating virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. “A Picture of God” offers 16 free, online, easy-to-navigate lessons that build on each other to reveal God’s character to seekers.
Adventist Community Services’ Expanded Partnership in New York City Means More Help For the Food Insecure
The Adventist Community Services’ relationship with City Harvest expired on Jan. 31, 2021, but the work is continuing at another level. “We are now connected with FEMA* through our City Harvest partnership,” said W. Derrick Lea, ACS Disaster Response director for the North American Division. City Harvest chose ACS because of its ability to disperse the goods they’ve received each Monday for the past nine months.
