Chamber Winds Brazil Tour Gives Students Opportunity to Connect

It was oboist Afonso Bittencourt Brito’s first time back in his native Brazil since leaving 18 months earlier to study at La Sierra University. During spring break in March, he toured the South American nation and visited his hometown as a member of a La Sierra University Chamber Winds quintet that gave performances and master classes.

Disabilities Ministries Annual Conference: A Historic Gathering at Living Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church

The last Sabbath of March 2025 marked the Disabilities Ministries Annual Conference, hosted this year by the Living Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church in Haymarket, Virginia. Representatives from across the country joined forces to share insights, with the event live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. This was a historic meeting with record-breaking attendance, signaling the church’s increasing emphasis on inclusion.

Sandy Doran, Ed.D., has authored "Three Angels for Kid"s (K-8) and "Three Angels for Today" (9-12), a two- to four-week curriculum available for Adventist schools.

Adventist Pastor and Family in Denver, Colorado, Victims of Hate Crime

Imagine coming home from church one evening and to find hateful words sprayed-painted on your house. This is exactly what Pastor Oshaine Wynter discovered this past Sabbath, January 9, 2021. Wynter, a resident of Aurora, Colorado, is the pastor of New Community Church in Denver and Boston Street church in Aurora. Both are within the Central States Conference, a sister region to Rocky Mountain Conference.

Fulfilling the Great Commission in the Right Order

In Matthew 28:19, 20 are the words of Jesus in the passage called “The Great Commission.” Notice that Jesus gave three commands in this Great Commission, after exhorting us to go make disciples, baptize, and teach them to observe all things as Jesus taught/commanded. When He spoke, Jesus didn’t “wing it.” He gave thought to what He was saying, how He was saying it, and in what order He was saying it. We should not take these imperatives lightly, nor should we ignore the order in which they were given.
