From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.

Ministry Leaders Across the North American Division Worship and Replenish at the 2023 Adventist Ministries Convention
The three-day convention, starting with a reception and evening general session on Jan. 8 and running through the morning of Jan. 11, was bookended by the Adventist Radio Convention on Jan. 6-8, Adventist Women Leaders luncheon meeting on Jan. 11, and the NAD Children’s Ministries Retreat on Jan. 11-14. In addition to the “Replenish” juice bar, ministry exhibits booths, seminar tracks, and morning hikes, the notion of rest and replenishment spilled into the six general sessions of the AMC.

Pacific Union College Alum Mary Johnson’s Life of Service: “There has always been a place for me in missions”
During spring break of her freshman year at Pacific Union College, Mary and the Korean Club partnered with Maranatha Volunteers International to help build a church in Guamúchil, Sinaloa, in Northwestern Mexico. She said she had several “real conversations” with local residents about how wonderful it is to work for God and decided to switch her major from liberal studies to Spanish. This marked a turning point in her life.
