Mid-America Union Conference Executive Committee Appoints New Communication Director

During its regular spring meeting, the Mid-America Union Executive Committee voted to approve a recommendation by MAUC’s administrative team outlining a leadership transition for the union’s communication department. Following the vote, then-director Brenda Dickerson became the associate director, and then-associate director/digital media manager Hugh Davis became the new director, effective May 1, 2025. This transition of titles, initially proposed by Dickerson, serves as a model for succession planning and smooth leadership transitions in appointed positions.

Business Students and Entrepreneurs Participate in Hyve Conference at Andrews University

Andrews University hosted the third annual North American Hyve International Conference from March 27–29, a gathering where students, entrepreneurs, ministry leaders and businesspeople networked with fellow innovators and pitched their ideas. Through various workshops and programs on campus, practicing entrepreneurs shared their experiences and advice on how to cultivate a strong business in a way that glorifies God.

From March 22-30, 2025, a team of 19 students and five nursing faculty and staff from Pacific Union College provided physicals, well visits, and regular physician office and dental care to 311 patients in Mana, Fiji.

2020 enditnow Virtual Summit on Abuse in English and Spanish Draws Diverse Audience

The 2020 enditnow Summit on Abuse took place virtually November 13 and 14, streaming on the enditnow website and on Facebook. The annual event organized by North American Division was created to help empower church leaders, school administrators and teachers, pastors, and members to recognize the signs of abuse, follow laws and protocols when reporting abuse, and help heal victims of abuse.

Navajos Take to the Airwaves

Kyle Boyd senses that God has given him a special opportunity to reach out to his fellow Navajo tribal members, whose territory straddles three states: Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. “Our people are desperately searching for hope,” he said. Recently Boyd was able to realize his dream of sharing God’s message in a very special way — through a radio broadcast.

This summer, a group of Southern Adventist University alumni, students, and faculty came together virtually for a special musical project. Gennevieve Brown-Kibble, D.M.A., professor and conductor in Southern’s School of Music, had the idea to form a virtual choir following an online family meeting.

Carolyn Forrest, associate secretary of the North American Division, and director of NAD Human Relations, Interdivision/International Service Employee Resources, and Archives and Statistics, along with Orlan Johnson, director of NAD Public Affairs and Religious Liberty, led out the session under the title of “Biblical Justice and Biblical Ethics in a World of Social Unrest.”
