The North American Division President's Report at the 2025 General Conference Session Highlights Discipleship, Media, Mentorship, and Service

On Saturday evening, July 5, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America (NAD) presented the first division report at the 2025 General Conference Session. NAD president G. Alexander Bryant, executive secretary Kyoshin Ahn, and treasurer Judy R. Glass introduced the video, which focused on the division’s ministry activities and accomplishments during the past three years.

Erton C. Köhler Elected as General Conference President

Erton C. Köhler was elected to the office of the president of the General Conference (GC) on July 4, 2025, during the 62nd GC Session in St. Louis, Missouri. Köhler’s election marks the beginning of his first term as the spiritual and administrative leader of a worldwide movement that spans more than 200 countries and includes more than 23 million members.

Lessons for the Living

I have a confession to make. I have a habit, some might call it a morbid one, but wherever I go, whatever city I’m visiting, I will find myself in the oldest cemetery in town, walking among the dead. I can go to a cemetery, and stay for two hours, three hours, and I walk up and down reading the tombstones. I like to ponder: Who was this person? What was their life?

Rooted in the Word: Scripture Comes Alive at the 2025 NAD Pathfinder Bible Experience

From April 25 to 26, more than 3,000 Pathfinders, supporters, and volunteers packed the arena in historic Battle Creek, Michigan, for a weekend of worship, Bible knowledge testing, and celebration. And on Sabbath, April 26, 185 teams — the second highest number ever — gathered in person from across North America and beyond. Four teams joined virtually.

Fourth Graders from Adventist School in Massachusetts Help Kentucky Tornado Victims

On Dec. 10, 2021, a large tornado devastated parts of Kentucky and damaged numerous towns within a 165-mile swath. Heidi Larsen, South Lancaster Academy’s (SLA) fourth grade teacher and member of the SLA class of 1989, contacted a friend who lived in the affected area to see how they were doing. The led to the fourth graders leading a community effort to send supplies to children in Kentucky.

AdventHealth University Imaging Studies Students Receive Prestigious National Scholarship

Victoria Browder and Jasmina Kozenjic somehow never met each other. They attend the same Christian university, AdventHealth University (AHU), in Orlando, are both imaging studies students, and are two out of only 16 national recipients of a prestigious Lambda Nu scholarship.

Devastation Widespread After Wildfires Burn Through Portions of Colorado

On December 30, 2021, the Marshall Fire tore through portions of Colorado, reportedly burning up to 1,000 homes and structures. Sunrise brought to light the full extent of the damage throughout Superior and Louisville, Colorado, after firefighters fought to contain the blaze in Boulder County. It also confirmed the fears of some families that their house was gone, while others tried to get information any way possible on their property.

Breaking Bread, Serving God, Building Community

Make no mistake, while Nicole and Victor Broushet run two restaurants in Massachusetts, with the second one opening in July 2021, they are involved in so much more that they hesitate to define their cafés — and their career paths — as traditional. “We consider what we do medical missionary work,” said Nicole. “And it’s about creating community. We’re not just a restaurant. I always joke about how I actually forget sometimes that we are a restaurant, because we have all of these other aspects.”
