Sonscreen 2025 Brings Together 200+ Creatives to Celebrate Faith, Film, and Community
From April 3-5, more than 200 student filmmakers, professionals, and guests gathered at Loma Linda University Church in California for the North American Division’s 2025 Sonscreen Film Festival. Now in its 22nd year, this unique NAD event showcased 48 student films and several professional projects, featured workshops led by professional faith-based filmmakers, and honored emerging voices via a pitch competition with cash prizes and an awards ceremony.
Medical Mission Takes Off Again
Before the pandemic, the last mission trip by a medical team of the Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic was in November 2019. They traveled to Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia to provide primary care. The return to missions began in November 2022 when the clinic’s eye care team went to the Republic of Palau, followed by a medical and dental trip to Rota in the U.S. territory of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in January 2023.
Oakwood University Hosts Historic Evangelism Event in Collaboration with Southern Union, Gulf States Conference, and South Central Conference
“I conduct around 14 evangelism meetings every year; however, I’ll remember this one,” said Pastor Roger Hernandez, ministerial and evangelism director for the Southern Union Conference. Hernandez was talking about the successful “Revive” evangelism meeting that took place on the Oakwood University campus on February 17-25, 2023, an event sponsored and directed by Hernandez in collaboration with the university and two local conferences.

The Loma Linda University School of Medicine - AdventHealth Orlando campus is expected to welcome up to 100 future students annually for third- and fourth-year clerkships.
Ukrainian Delegates Speak With Southern Adventist University Students About Service Amid War
Southern Adventist University’s School of Education and Psychology recently hosted two distinguished delegates from Ukraine. The campus welcomed Valeriia Palii, Ph.D., president of the National Psychological Association of Ukraine (NPAU), and Olena Vladovska, chief operating officer of Angelia Medical Center, a Ukrainian Seventh-day Adventist clinic.
