We support the movement of our people from membership to discipleship in the areas of Sabbath School, Personal and Prison Ministries. We work directly with union, conference, and local church directors, coordinators, and volunteers, offering resources through our Adult Ministries website, webcasts, and training materials that transform Bible study from routine to relationship.

The North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is thrilled to welcome Bill Payne as the new director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries. Payne officially assumed this role last November after being elected by the NAD executive committee on September 6, 2024.

New Children’s Sabbath School Curriculum to Roll Out in January 2025
Sabbath Schools in Seventh-day Adventist churches around the world will see a big change as the Alive in Jesus curriculum launches in January 2025, with the roll out of materials for babies (birth through 12 months) and beginners (1-3 years). The rollout will continue for the next three years for age groups kindergarten and primary (2026), followed by junior and teen (projected for 2027), and youth (projected for 2028).

Empowering the Marginalized
From April 27-29, 112 Prison Ministries leaders, volunteers, and guests gathered at the North American Division’s (NAD) headquarters in Columbia, Maryland, for the 2023 NAD Prison Ministry Conference. Themed “Ministry to the Marginalized,” it drew inspiration from Jesus’ call to serve prisoners in Matthew 25:40.
