There are approximately 54 million people with various disabilities in the United States alone or an estimated 21 percent of most local communities, many who have not yet heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Because of a lack of oppor-tunity and awareness, church members are often uncomfortable about how to interact with those who have physical or mental challenges.
