● A NEW CATEGORY WILL BE LAUNCHED AT THE NEXT SONSCREEN FESTIVAL, VIII. It will open the way for Non-Student Independent/professionals to compete. Let the videographers in your conference know so they can plan for it. The next SONscreen Festival will be April 8-10 in Simi Valley, CA at the Adventist Media Center.

THE DOCTOR OF MINISTRY PROGRAM AT THE THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY at Andrews University will launch new cohorts early in 2010 for concentrations in Discipleship and Spiritual Formation, Leadership, and Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Application deadline is Dec 1. 

 A new cohort for a concentration in Family Ministry will begin mid-year 2010; application deadline for this cohort is April 30.

 Ministry professionals who have completed graduate degrees may call or email for more information.

●CREATION SABBATH, October 24 — This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of his book, The Origin of Species by Natural Selection

● A NEW MARKET RESEARCH INSTITUTE WILL OPEN at Southern Adventist University in October. The nonprofit institute will work in conjunction with the School of Business and Management to administer market research and demographic analysis for businesses in and around the area. The institute will provide professional quality work to businesses at reduced costs due to the fact that the institute will involve the help of students, providing them with real-world experience. Profits will go directly to benefit students of Southern through scholarships.
