SHARE THE HOPE OFFICIALLY BEGINS SEPTEMBER 11 AND MANY CHURCHES in North America will be starting evangelism meetings. Remember to participate and to pray for this outreach program.

Weekly webinars are being held every Monday during September to discuss plans and ask questions about conducting Share the Hope.

Contact: www.sharethehope2009.com for links to the weekly webinar information.

• THE NAD WEBSITE HAS A NEW LOOK — As of Thursday evening, instead of the usual vertical layout, it is now shaped to fit the horizontal shape of computer screens, enabling the viewer to see more without scrolling down.

Contact: www.nadadventist.org to see the new site. Go to www.adventistchurchconnect.org and click on New Templates to learn more about new options that are now available for church websites and how to apply them.

• ADVENTIST MUSLIM RELATIONS SUMMIT will be held at La Sierra University, Sept. 24-26. It will include a weekend of seminars sharing the unique message Adventists have for Muslims. Early bird registration ends Sept 17. Speakers include Mark Siljander, author of Deadly Misunderstanding and Jon Paulien, Dean of the Religion Department at Loma Linda University.

 Contact: www.plusline.org/events to register.

• ARIZONA CONFERENCE HAS LAUNCHED A NEW SPANISH CHANNEL with a mission to reach the Hispanic unchurched population in the Phoenix metro area. It has the potential to reach more than 150,000 homes.

Plans are to produce educational programs on health, family matters, faith, history, education and the character of God. Each one of the Hispanic churches in the valley has made a commitment to support this channel with prayers, volunteer help and financial support.

• HOPE CHURCH CHANNEL is a supporting channel of the Hope Channel network and carries special event programming for church members and leaders in NAD such as conferences, training seminars, and camp meetings. It is on the same satellite (AMC 4) as Hope Channel.

Contact: 888-4-HOPE-TV for instructions on how to tune your satellite receiver for the Church Channel, or email info@hopetv.org with "Hope Church Channel" in the Subject Line, and submit your name, address, phone number, and type of receiver. Instructions will be sent to you promptly. In some cases it may be necessary to contact the company from which you purchased your system.

To purchase a satellite system that receives Hope Channel, Hope Church Channel, and other Christian TV and radio networks, call Adventist Satellite at 888-393-HOPE (888-393-4673).

• WAL-MART POLICY CHANGE AFFECTING ADVENTIST EMPLOYEES — A recent policy change by Wal-Mart corporate offices in Bentonville, AR, has resulted in religious accommodation problems for Seventh-day Adventists and others. The new policy requires its employees to show “open availability” regarding scheduling.

The General Conference Office of General Counsel (OGC) is seeking to engage Wal-Mart in a constructive solution to this problem. In the meantime, OGC needs to continue gathering information on how this new policy has impacted our own church members.

Contact: North American Religious Liberty Association - West (NARLA)  in Calif, at 805-413-7398 or 916-446-2552 if you or anyone you know is an Adventist working at Wal-Mart.

 Contact: http://churchstate.org/article.php?id=369 to read more.

• THE ADVENTIST DEVELOPMENT AND RELIEF AGENCY (ADRA) has been recognized as one of the top 100 most valuable brand names among 1.5 million nonprofit entities in the United States.
