■ ADVENTIST URBAN CONGRESS, DALLAS, TEX, AUG 30 - SEPT 2 — Pastors, lay ministry leaders, community service leaders, learn how to transform your congregation and your community through community outreach ministries. ■ PLANNED GIVING:  GETTING THE PROPER START, Sept 21-23, will be offered by PSI in partnership with the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University’s The Fund Raising School. Registration for this 3-day course is $445 for PSI members through June 25 — more than a 56% discount. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.

■ A COLLECTION OF HOLIDAY SERMONS, Adventist Preaching, Vol 24, is now ready for distribution. It is the third Signature Edition which is themed rather than a series by one speaker. (The Collective Works of Renowned Black Preachers and The Collected Works of Pioneer Preachers are the first and second Signature Editions.) The Holiday Collection has 9 presentations that will enhance your services during holidays like New Year, Easter, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, in addition to a communion homily. Every church, large or small, will enjoy the holiday sermons.

■ GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION summer intensive courses will be offered at 50% off the normal tuition price. These two 1-week intensives, July 12-17 and 19-24, will be at the Theological Seminary at Andrews University. They are custom tailored for people on the move and will be taught by leading national experts including Dr. Rene Drumm of Southern Adventist University and Dr. Curtis Fox of Loma Linda University. The goal is to develop strong healthy families in the church and the community.

 The annual Family Celebration Sabbath will be held during the weekend between intensives, where sexual addictions expert Mark Laaser will be presenting on the topics of pornography and sexual addictions.

■ REMINDER TO USE THE UPDATED SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST® LOGO — If you are updating your web site, stationery, signs, business cards, newsletters, bulletins, and other printed items for your conference or church, remember to use the updated church logo. It includes the ® registered trademark symbol.

 In addition, use the ® after the first use of the word "Adventist" in a document. All Adventist Church Connect web sites have been updated.

 The updated logos can be downloaded in several file formats at www.adventist.org/world_church/logo


■ NEW HOURS FOR PACIFIC UNION CONFERENCE OFFICE — Effective now, the Pacific Union office will have an officially ‘closed’ status on Fridays. Mon through Thurs, the switchboard and front-door-is-open hours will be 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
