■ PRE-CONVENTION PRAYER CONFERENCE, JANUARY 16-18 — Join other church leaders to pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon us and our outreach efforts for the Year of Evangelism 2009. We have set the goal of 100,000 baptisms, more than twice the highest number of 38,000 won in the past.

The conference will be held at the Kingston Plantation Hotel in Myrtle Beach, S.C. just before the Adventist Ministries Convention.

Contact: www.plusline.org/events.php for more information and to register.

■ DON’T BE LEFT OUT IN THE COLD. BE SURE YOU HAVE HOTEL RESERVATIONS for the NAD Ministries Convention in time to receive the group rate. Deadline is this Monday, Dec. 22.

Remember to check your local station listings for the NAD Christmas Shows. Last year's Christmas at Cadillac Jack's will be broadcast on Hallmark on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 7 a.m. EST and PST. NBC stations also will be airing it around Christmas.

The NRB Network, which reaches 17.5 million homes and is included in DIRECTV's base package on Channel 378, will be showing the last three NAD Christmas programs on Christmas day, Dec. 25. They are scheduled as follows:  All Is Bright at 4 p.m. EST; Love's Pure Light at 5 p.m. EST; Christmas at Cadillac Jack's at 6 p.m. EST.

TBN also will be running nearly all of the NAD Christmas programs. The currently-known schedule is continually updated on the NAD web site, linked from the center of the home page at www.nadadventist.org

■ DISCOVERIES ‘08 – A BRIEF REPORT — Mark Finley reports that in NAD and the West Indies 1,200 churches and groups registered as downlink sites. More than 3,600 emails with prayer requests, questions, comments or requests for materials indicated that many more participated who did not register. There were 120,000 hours of sermons downloaded for viewing on the Internet by more than 21,000 people. HopeTV, 3ABN and Blue Mt. TV carried the series to tens of thousands in their homes. We have had responses from between 150-160 countries.

For four months the Florida Conference leadership and pastors, with the Discoveries ‘08 team, conducted a comprehensive evangelistic thrust in Florida. On the last Sabbath at the Harvest Celebration more than 2,500 people packed the Forest Lake Academy gymnasium to hear a report of God’s blessings. Florida Conference reported over 800 baptisms from these comprehensive evangelism initiatives in Florida this Fall. This included both the Discoveries ‘08 uplink series at the Forest Lake Church and the Spanish uplink series from Miami. It is estimated that there will be more than 1,000 baptisms from all of these initiatives within the next few months.

Thus far the Hispanic initiative has brought in over 500 and the meetings at Forest Lake have resulted in approximately 170, with baptisms planned for December and January. Florida Conference evangelists, pastors and conference administrators conducted over 100 evangelistic meetings during this time, either live or via satellite.

“We praise God for the marvelous outpouring of His Spirit during Discoveries ‘08!” says Finley.

■ THERE WILL BE NO FRIDAY FAX UNTIL JANUARY 8 — The North American Division and General Conference offices will be closed for the entire week of Dec. 22-26.

Have a blessed CHRISTmas and New Year Season!
