■ THE INCREASING NUMBER OF LARGE-SCALE DISASTERS IS TAKING A TOLL on the ability of volunteer organizations to respond. Adventist Community Services needs your help in order to be able to continue to help others.

Please forward this information to all the churches in your conference. A new bulletin insert is now posted at www.adventistcommunityservices.org. Many churches did not receive the notice about the one that was sent last week, so please be faithful to give them this information.

■ THIRTEENTH SABBATH OFFERING —  Members are calling and writing to ask for information for 13th Sabbath Offering appeals. Encourage your local churches to make a very special13th Sabbath Offering appeal this Sabbath. The Adventist® Mission DVDs contain excellent material for presentation. This quarter’s offering will go for expanding the reach and influence of two radio outreach ministries:

• VOAR, our only Adventist-owned radio station in Canada, has a very special and exciting opportunity to spread its reach from its location in Newfoundland to all across Canada with the use of low-cost repeaters or rebroadcast stations. One-fourth of the 13th Sabbath Offering will subsidize the building of 35 low-power radio station throughout Canada.

LifeTalk Radio (LTR) provides satellite programming, enabling churches in small and large communities to have an inexpensive 24/7 Adventist radio presence by assisting them to set up low-power radio stations. Funds will help the continued operation of the radio network that provides more than 100 radio stations across North America with quality programming including some NPR stations. In addition, on the Internet Lifetalk provides three radio feeds to Live365.com where Lifetalk's channel for children ranks higher in streaming hours than that provided by Disney. Lifetalk is a vibrant network of radio, Internet, and satellite feeds that warrants the financial support of those who value media ministry.
