■ THERE WILL BE NO FRIDAY FAX until August 22.

■ DR. JO ANN DAVIDSON, POPULAR PROFESSOR OF CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY at the Seminary at Andrews, is the speaker for the latest Adventist Preaching, Vol 21. “Signs of Hope: Looking Forward to the Second Coming,” includes five sermons which she gave for the General Conference Colloquium in March.

Dr. Davidson’s in-depth study of God uncovers ideas and concepts that have given her classes a popular edge. Dr. Davidson says, "We reduce our picture of God to 'God is love,' whereas the biblical portrait of God is far grander!"

Contact: www.AdventistPreaching.com or 800-328-0525.  Also available at most ABCs.

■ IF YOU ARE EVER IN FLORIDA, you might want to check out the Jewish-Adventist services. Next weekend there will be special services in St. Petersburg and New Port Richey: a Sabbath service in St. Petersburg on Friday, August 8, at 7:00 pm; a Jewish music concert in New Port Richey on Sabbath, August 9, at 5:00 pm; and a Jewish music concert in St. Petersburg, Sunday, August 10, at 7:00 p.m.

Adventist Heritage recently held evangelism meetings with the help of ASI Youth for Jesus, and because the Bible worker had to leave in the middle of the meetings, they are looking for one that can step in for a few months.

Contact: www.Jewishheritage.net for addresses and more information, and Jeff@Jewishheritage.net if you can offer Bible worker help.

■ ABUSE PREVENTION EMPHASIS SABBATH will be August 23. The theme this year will be “Abuse of Power.” Five NAD departments: the Women’s Ministries, Youth Ministries, Family Ministries, Health Ministries, Children’s Ministries and the Ministerial Association are all collaborating to make materials and presentations available for local churches. Resources include a kit containing a sermon, a children's story, and a PowerPoint presentation for a Sabbath afternoon or Friday evening program. The kit is downloadable from websites of the supporting departments.

Contact: www.nadadventist.org and check for the department of your choice under “Ministries.”

FAMILY EVANGELISMThis book includes sermons, mini-seminars, children’s stories, resources for family ministries, reprinted articles, book reviews, and more, all on the topic of family evangelism.

Learn to be more effective in bringing entire families to Jesus. Be ready to listen and respond to why youth leave the church and why they stay. Learn how to safeguard your own family relationships while giving diligently of yourself. Conduct fresh dialogue between family life educators and evangelists.

 Contact: www.adventsource.org or 800-328-0525.

■ CORRECTION — The Women’s Ministry Convention listed in last week’s emailed Friday Fax was incorrectly listed for September of 2008. The correct date is September 25-27, 2009.

■ "MY PLACE WITH JESUS," an interactive online Bible study series for children ages 7-12, has been launched by It Is Written.
 Contact: www.myplacewithjesus.com.

■ THE ANNUAL MARANATHA VOLUNTEERS INTERNATIONAL convention with international speakers, video presentations, music, and testimonies will be held at Rolling Hills Community Church in Tualatin, Oregon, September 5-6.

Contact: www.maranatha.org or call 916-920-1900 for information and to register.
