■ SOUTHERN UNION WOMEN’S CONFERENCE, “Make a Difference and be Blessed!” will be held September 4-7.
Contact: www.plusline.org for information and to register.
■ NEW MPH DEGREE IN LIFESTYLE MEDICINE, the first of its kind in the country, is now offered by the LLU School of Public Health. It is designed to help equip clinical health professionals with the missing link to go beyond fighting established disease to actually promoting health through lifestyle changes in nutrition, physical activity and addiction recovery. They encourage patients to change attitudes and behaviors that may result in, or have already caused chronic disease.
“A full two-thirds of avoidable disease and premature death in our country are related to personal lifestyle choices,” says David Dyjack, DrPH, dean of the School of Public Health. “The lifestyle medicine MPH may, over time, come to represent the singularly most important degree the School of Public Health offers.”
The MPH course work takes four to five academic quarters to complete. Students must also finish a 200-hour field practicum.
■ THE NEXT NAD ADVENTIST MUSLIM RELATIONS gathering is at the Quiet Hour headquarters in Redlands, California, beginning at 7 pm, Thursday, September 25.
Contact: Donald Lawrence at firstname.lastname@example.org or 603-899-5050 for more information.
■ WINNER AND LISTEN OPPORTUNITIES — Packets have been sent to churches for the annual Listen and Winner Community Crusade Against Drugs. Different options are offered: send subs to local public schools, send them to local Adventist schools or send them to relatives and friends. Listen currently has 17,000 subs and Winner has 3,000. Most of them go to public schools, but as we have learned, Adventist children are also tempted to do drugs, or to drink or smoke.
Right now, a young person is choosing whether to practice the piano or study, and whether to refuse alcohol, tobacco and drugs. Making good choices puts them on the road to a happy and successful future. Help support the Listen and Winner Community Crusade Against Drugs and give needed encouragement for a life of success to a young person.
Anyone can subscribe to Listen and Winner magazines at www.listenmagazine.org/transaction.php or by calling 800-456-3991.
■ QUICK BIBLE ANSWERS — Many Adventists want to give Bible studies but worry about getting stumped and embarrassed by a difficult question. Help has arrived: Quick Bible Answers, a new booklet from Pacific Press, highlights often-asked Bible questions as drawn from the vast experience of Evangelist Ken Cox. His candid responses will boost the confidence of anyone sharing their faith.

■ BUILD A SIGN ONLINE — This place offers an awesome online interface for designing whatever signs you need. Especially good for promoting church events.
