■ THE NEOSHO, MISSOURI CHURCH WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night when tornados ripped through Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. No one was in the church (actually located in Grandby, Missouri), and no members or their homes were hurt or damaged.
Clean-up kits are still needed for the survivors of the tornado that roared through Picher, Oklahoma.
Stan Buckmaster, Adventist Community Services Disaster Response (ACS DR) Director for Oklahoma reports that the Miami ACS DR Team is operating a distribution site for the town of Picher in the Head Start building there. Feed the Children Disaster Response is adding to the supplies by sending sleeping bags, personal care kits and water.
ACS DR volunteers in Arkansas have been responding to the many tornados that have affected communities in their state. Arkansas, which receives an average of 23 tornadoes in an entire year, has experienced 50 tornados since January 1.
