 IMAGINE PENTECOST II

Our division chose a bold evangelism initiative for 2009 and voted to make it the Year of Pastoral Evangelism. Such emphasis is not the only part of this evangelistic endeavor of praying and working for 100,000 souls to be added to the church in 2009. A number of conferences are already making definite plans for aggressive growth. A promotional DVD is being produced in time for the summer camp meetings. Please pray for God to wake us to our mission as never before. There will be more on this in subsequent weeks.

MISSION OPPORTUNITY IN ALASKA — The teenager suicide rate in Alaska is 400% higher in some villages than in the rest of the U.S. The Alaska Conference invites teachers to come and teach in the public school system there. Alaska has difficulty getting teachers who can adapt to the living conditions and isolation they may face there. Average starting salary is over US$50,000. If not certified to teach in Alaska, there are programs to get you started.

Contact: www.alaskateacher.org/jobs or www.jobs.state.ak.us for more information.

There are villages with Adventist churches that need assistance and leadership.

Contact: www.alaskaconference.org and click on “Arctic Mission Adventure” for more information.
