REMEMBER TO REGISTER FOR NET 2008 BEFORE JUNE 1 to receive the free revival series DVD, “Empowered by the Spirit.” Mark Finley prepared this series especially for NET 2008 (October 24 - November 29) preparation. The first mailing will be sent in mid-May to those who are registered by then.

Finley is hoping for 2,500 churches to join him in evangelism this October. We are living in very serious times. Help to tell the world the good news of Jesus' coming.

Contact: www.Discoveries08.org to register and encourage others to register as well.

LA ESPERANZA ES JESUS (HISPANIC NET 2008) will be uplinked from two different locations at two different times:  Chicago La Red will be August 10-17, and Phoenix La Red will be September 13-20. Alejandro Bullon, internationally-known evangelist will be the speaker for both locations. The two series are planned to be used as a full evangelistic package but they also can be used independently. The Chicago series will be a study of I Thessalonians and the Phoenix series will conclude with a series on II Thessalonians.

Contact: www.laesperanzaesjesus.org to register. Registration is the only way to receive the promotion materials.

THE DISASTER AND FAMINE RELIEF OFFERING IS MAY 10 — This offering supports world disaster response efforts through Adventist Community Services (ACS) for the U.S. and Bermuda (10%) and Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) International (90%). The average total offering is $1.5 million so ACS receives about $150,000 for disaster responses in the U.S. and Bermuda.

ACS Disaster Response (ACS DR) has trained volunteers in every conference who help set up emergency distribution or collection centers and can be deployed with mobile kitchens or distribution units that distribute items such as prepacked personal care kits, undergarments, clothing, blankets, etc. The volunteers are trained to utilize local Seventh-day Adventist entities to operate collection centers and emergency distribution centers.

ACS has a national agreement with FEMA to operate and manage donated goods programs following disasters and also is one of the seven National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) founding members. NVOAD is comprised of more than 50 members in the U.S.

In addition, ACS provides Crisis Care training for pastors to equip them with skills that will be beneficial, both to their local congregations and in disaster situations.

HAVE YOU BEEN ASKED ABOUT OUR CHURCH’S STANCE regarding Earth Day and conservation? Get reacquainted with a free resource –  our “Official Statements, Guidelines and Other Documents” posted at the General Conference website. There are several Official Statements on caring for creation, the environment, and global warming.

Contact: www.adventist.org and look under “Adventist Beliefs.”

SPECIAL MOTHER’S DAY AND FATHER’S DAY PROGRAMS — On Sunday, May 11, It Is Written will feature a special Mother's Day program. During this show, Shawn and Jean Boonstra will speak candidly about the challenges of motherhood in a busy world. This program will then be followed up by a Father's Day telecast on June 15.

In addition, the Boonstras have just written a new book called First Aid Parenting, which features tips on how to survive and thrive as a parent, find more joy, and feel close to the Great Physician.
