■ FUNDS NEEDED FOR RESPONSE IN WAKE OF STORMS — Adventist Community Services is on the scene with disaster relief following the worst tornado outbreak in 25 years in Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi. More than 50 were killed and hundreds injured. So far we know of one Adventist family in Arkansas that lost their home. There are no reports of churches or members’ homes damaged in Gulf States Conference.

 Funds are needed to assist in the relief. No clothing or water are needed.

■ THE HEARTQUEST EVANGELISTIC SERIES AVAILABLE ON DVD –13 NET 2007 programs on five discs. —  Churches or individuals who missed this ground-breaking series can now share the messages with friends and family. ■ ADVENTIST PREACHING, VOL 19 FEATURES GC PRESIDENT JAN PAULSEN — “Almost Home: Completing the Journey,” includes five sermons selected from Paulsen's addresses during his years as president of the world church. During his tenure as president, he has traveled to all 13 world church divisions to encourage and inspire our members in mission and to uphold one another in faithful witness. Since it is not possible for him to visit every church or camp meeting, his messages are being made available to you on DVD.

■SONSCREEN FESTIVAL EXTENDS FILM ENTRY DEADLINE to February 11. A late submission fee will be added to late entries. The Festival will be held April 10-12, at the Adventist Media Center in Simi Valley, California.

URGENT — PRAYERS AND 20,000 LETTERS (OR MORE) NEEDED BEFORE TUESDAY  — Everyone is needed to send a letter to their state senator and house representative before Tuesday, February 12, supporting the Workplace Religious Freedom Act (WRFA). The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is working to ensure that the WRFA is defeated.

 For the first time in a generation a representative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church will be testifying before Congress in support of the rights of Sabbath keepers and other people of faith in the workplace.

 As many as possible of DC area church members and GC and NAD employees are being asked to provide a supportive presence by attending the hearings at the Rayburn House Office Building.

■ GC PRESIDENT JAN PAULSEN TO APPEAR ON BLOOMBERG TV — He will be a guest on the February 11 edition of “Night Talk” with Mike Schneider on Bloomberg TV. He will participate in a 30 minute interview about the history and growth of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This is the first time Paulsen has granted an interview with a major international television network. The show airs on the Bloomberg TV network in the U.S., Europe and Asia at 8 p.m., 10 p.m and midnight on week nights and is simulcast on Bloomberg Radio at 10 p.m.
