A GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN CAMPUS SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP is now offered by Andrews University to enhance students’ Christian impact on campus and community.  It has been found that there is a growing student interest in spirituality on secular campuses so the course contains two specialty tracks, one for the public and one for the Christian campus. Intensives begin July 7.

THE ADDICTIONS MINISTRY CONFERENCE, July 11-15, at Andrews University, is designed for pastors and church members and community friends, health profes-sionals and counselors, educators and students. It will train participants in how to deal with those struggling with addictions in community, school, or church. CEUs are available. Register by May 31 and save $50.

THE FIRST PLACE BEST IN CLASS - “ACORN AWARD” WAS AWARDED to The Canadian Adventist Messenger by the Associated Church Press at their annual convention in Chicago this year. The Acorn Award is their category that honors "small publica-tions doing big things."  It is one of the top awards that they give.

  ■ UPDATE ON LA RED, held March 30 - April 8, in Vineland, New Jersey —  The La Red evangelism series was the first major event following the launching of the Adventist satellite Hispanic channel, Esperanza Television. Elder Jose Cortes, Executive Secretary of the   New Jersey Conference was the speaker for the series.

 So far there have been 255 baptisms at the meeting site and the  surrounding Vineland area churches. In the New Jersey Conference more than 500 baptisms among the Spanish,  Portugese, French, and English speaking churches are expected, and there are estimates that across the division there will be about 2,000 baptisms from this NET series, once all the are reports in.
