 — RESOURCES —

THE 2006 NAD CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, “LOVE’S PURE LIGHT,” is “even better than last year’s” according to statements heard after viewing it at the one-time showing at the General Conference. Last year’s “All Is Bright” NAD Christmas show won a Bronze Telly Award.

Now you can see “Love’s Pure Light” on the Adventist Review site in streaming video. If you have areas in your conference that do not have the Hope Channel, TBN or the Hallmark Channel, and the local broadcast television stations have not scheduled “Love’s Pure Light,” send members to the Adventist Review web site. If a church or small group can get a highspeed Internet connection, they could conceivably show the 1-hour program via the Internet if they do not require large screen for their audience. They should test for the quality for their size monitor before arranging the showing.

Contact: http://www.adventistreview.org/article.php?id=875 to view the video online, www.nadadventist.org/article.php?id=132, and local broadcast TV Guides for local viewing times.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY LEADERS — The North American Division wants to know about active ministries that are successfully engaging young adults. E-mail the ministry title, description, number of people impacted by the ministry, web address, and leadership contact info to Allan Martin, amartin@andrews.edu.

DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR “JUST CLAIM IT" (JCI) World Youth Prayer Conference registration — Many youth and youth groups are still raising funds so the registration deadline has been extended to January 4. JCI will be a life-changing experience for everyone who attends.

Contact: www.justclaimit.org or call 800-732-7587 to register.

Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family members can give a young person a life-changing experience this Christmas by becoming a “Just Claim It” sponsor or part of “Dreamers 1000.”

Contact: 301-680-6472 or James.Black@nad.adventist.org for more information.

THE HEALTH MINISTRIES SUMMIT will be January 28 - February 3 in Orlando, Florida.

Contact: www.nadhealthsummit.com for information and to register.

BASIC CRISIS RESPONSE TRAINING WILL BE OFFERED BY Adventist Community Services at the General Conference in Silver Spring, Maryland, January 22-25. The training will use the model designed by NOVA (National Organization for Victim’s Assistance), and will prepare participants to conduct Group Crisis Intervention for survivors of disasters to help them cope with their trauma and to give them resources to help them adjust to the future.

Pastors, teachers, mental health workers, social workers, law enforcement and fire and rescue personnel are especially welcome to attend the training, but it is open to all.

Contact: www.plusline.org to register and for more information.

CHECK THE SUGGESTED INITIATIVES for the quenquinnium, adopted at the 2005 Year-end Meeting to see how your plans and goals for 2007 fit with the evangelism, church revitalization, media, leadership, education and world mission suggested initiatives.

ALZHEIMERS PREVENTION —  Researchers at Loma Linda, in collaboration with Washington University researchers, released a study last month indicating that drinking 1-2 glasses of pomegranate juice every day may help prevent Alzheimer’s and the build-up of protein plaque in the brain.
