Sharing the Holidays and Preparing for a New Year

As we close 2015 and enter into a new year, the North American Division wanted to share with you some ways that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is sharing in the Christmas and New Year's celebrations. Our prayer is that you will have a blessed holiday season with your friends, family and loved ones.

Watch the Peace on Earth Christmas 1-hour special produced by the Voice of Prophecy all this week. It was taped at the Spencerville Seventh-day Adventist Church in Maryland. Last year, it was ABC Television's official Christmas program. This year, it is airing all this week on HOPE Channel, 3ABN and local networks across the country during many primetime lineups. The program includes an inspirational message by Pastor Shawn Boonstra, a heartwarming story by Bill Knott, and music by Christine Wollmann, the Adventist Children's Chorus and the King's Heralds. Many airtimes have been updated with even better time slots, so please check this page to find where it’s showing on a station near you, and tell a friend!

Breath of Life will have its annual New Year's Eve Worship Experience on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at 5:30 pm at the Oakwood University Church in Huntsville, AL.  The special musical guest artist will be Christian Recording Artist, Babbie Mason.

Imagine Houses Of Hope Everywhere! That's the 2016 theme for the NAD Prayer Ministries. It creates the acronym, HOPE. Project Hope is about going face-to-face with our neighbors, as a first step, and sharing Happiness Digest with them. You can offer to pray for them or with them. Prayer opens hearts, and provides HOPE. Entreat God that He might fulfill the promise in our day so that all around us people will say, 'Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you." (Zech. 8:23)

The 2016 NAD Day of Prayer will be on January 2. Sermons on prayer by Pastor Pavel Goia are available on the NAD Prayer Ministries website. Pastor Goia will also deliver the Jan. 2, Day of Prayer sermon, "Getting Personal with God," which will be aired on HOPE Channel-Church at 11 a.m. ET/PT. Make 2016 the year of Houses Of Hope Everywhere, because HOPE Heals!

The NAD Initiative for 2016 will be Compassion and Hope, as part of the Transformational Evangelism Building Block. Apr. 16, 17 will be the Day of Hope and Compassion.  In addition, the 2nd weekend of every month will automatically be a Compassion Weekend. Plan for it every month throughout the year to do acts of compassion, especially on these weekends, but better yet, every day.
