Two of the eight $50,000 Project Stimulus Grants for Transformational Evangelism have been awarded so far. One was awarded to Dallas City Temple, Southwest Region Conference, Southwestern Union. Life on the Line, a documentary series for national television, is produced by Loma Linda University Health. New episodes are now airing on your local public TV stations. It provides a view into the lives of people who are fighting to overcome - fighting disease, facing natural disaster, coping with a disability or battling mental illness. “Life on the Line” is an inspiring look into the resilience of humankind. Narrated by award winning journalist and writer, Lisa Ling, it follows patients from Southern California to the Amazon, Haiti, and Egypt as they all fight a similar battle: to stay alive. MORE

The 2016 sharing books are by two popular speakers/authors. Four Winds of Revelation, by evangelist Kenneth Cox, examines what the Bible says about the crises that we are facing and shares what we can expect for the future. It is written in a style that would appeal to those unfamiliar with Adventist beliefs. In Adventist Book Centers October 1.

I Will Give you Rest, by Elizabeth Viera Talbot, the 2016 sharing book for women, tells about our assured reality - that of resting in Jesus. It will help you share the eternal gospel for the weary soul with your friends, neighbors, relatives and colleagues. Also available in Spanish. Read the first chapter; get quantity prices.

Both can be ordered through the Adventist Book Center (or call 800-765-6955).

"Revelation Speaks Peace" series as presented by VOP Speaker/Director Shawn Boonstra in Minneapolis this year is now available on DVD. The series of 24 programs on 12 DVDs clearly unlocks the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, using the Bible itself as the key. Currently on sale for $80. MORE

This past weekend I spent a very spiritual, engaging and delightful time in the environs of Sturgis, Michigan. It is a beautiful part of North America and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The facility there is called the ‘Amigo Center’ and it truly is place of friendship and fellowship.

The group I was with prayed together, played together, laughed and cried together. We studied the word of God and I was blessed by the openness to the Word of God and the rich insights expressed and demonstrated by so many individuals.
I spent the weekend in Sturgis with the faculty of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary and I was blessed.
So often, in the heat of the battle, we turn our implements of warfare on those whom we do not understand. It seems to me that our seminary and its faculty have received more than just a few unjustified darts thrown their way in the past few years.
It has been my experience in life that the closer you look the clearer you see. Throughout the past five years it has been my privilege to serve as the chairperson of the Seminary Committee. I have always – and I mean always – found the faculty there to be grounded in the Word of God and supportive of the Spirit of Prophecy. This past weekend I found a group of people who were hospitable and caring and who demonstrated the fruits of the Spirit, love for God and loyalty to His church. I just wish you could have been there.
