You will not want to miss listening to this ViewPoint presented by Kessia Reyne Bennett, a PhD doctoral candidate in Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. It is one of four recorded at the Loma Linda University Church, January 23, 24.

"What's the primary defect in arguments about women's ordination? Should it be about rights, equality and freedom and a woman's right to choose pastoring? Why does this conversation matter? ...

"What is 'ministry?' It means service. It is not a right. Those who receive that calling are compelled to fulfill it. (1 Cor 9:16, 17)... People concerned with status and rights need not apply. Ministry is not a right. It is a calling. A non-negotiable commission to suffer in order to proclaim the good news about Jesus Christ. And we need to be far, far less worried about a woman's right to choose pastoral ministry as a career, and far, far more concerned with the right of the Holy Spirit to call and commission and compel whoever He wants."

Reaching Out in Love

REACHing Micronesia with our 13th Sabbath Offering

People living in Micronesia, part of the newest region of the North American Division, are often disowned by their families if they convert to Seventh-day Adventism. However, many non-Adventists send their children to the Adventist schools which have excellent reputations and have produced a number of prominent people in leadership there. Part of this quarter's Thirteenth Sabbath Offering will go for building gymnasiums on four of the islands which provide prime locations for community activities to build relationships, as well as to provide a place for children to play during the many unpredictable downpours and in the hot equatorial sun. Watch the video.
