The Mamawi Atosketan Native School (MANS) received "academy" status from NAD during the 2014 Year-end Meeting, making it Canada's first and only mission school to become part of the sisterhood of Adventist senior academies. MORE

 
   
Ellen White is listed in the Smithsonian Magazine's list of "100 Most Significant Americans of All Time." Instead of ranking each listing, Smithsonian listed them according to ten different categories. Ellen White is, of course, listed under "Religious Figures," where "Curiously, she is provided more space than any other religious figure — a full-page article illustrated with a full-page drawing," according to the Adventist Review. World Religions: Sikhs, Seventh-day Adventists, and Mennonites, a CBS Interfaith Special, will be broadcast Sunday, December 14, on CBS. It will look at three faiths and ask them to share their beliefs, traditions, histories and modern voice. Check your local listings. MORE

The Blueprint: The Story of Adventist Education, produced by Journey Films, will begin airing on PBS WORLD in December. The one-hour documentary tells the story of how Seventh-day Adventists have built one of the largest faith-based school systems in America, founded on teaching the whole child body, mind and spirit. Broadcast timesPurchase The Blueprint.

The new book "Questions and Answers About Women's Ordination," compiled by Martin Hanna, a professor at the SDA Theological Seminary at Andrews University, and Cindy Tutsch, former associate director of the E. Reaching Out in Love
 
   

Sharing their home Bible studies with family and friends via the Internet expanded the REACH of the Guarismas, who were just recently baptized. One of their sisters decided to be baptized too, and traveled from Venezuela with other family members coming along to witness the baptism. After returning home, this sister invited another 10 people to participate, via video conference. MORE
