This week I attended the Just Claim It! conference, held in Miami, Fla. I was able to spend an hour and a half talking with the youth, answering questions. It was great and I loved it!

Registration for the 2014 SONscreen Film Festival is now open. Submissions deadline for entries is March 1, and the late fee deadline is March 7. The festival showcases a variety of films, often ones that reflect themes such as redemption, tolerance, equality, truth and hope. These are not exclusive by any means, but preference is given to films that in some way share their narrative from a faith-based perspective, or one of creative inspiration that appeals to the human spirit. REGISTER
The SONscreen Film Festival will be held March 20-22 on the Southern Adventist University campus in Collegedale, Tenn. MORE

Oakwood University is again entering the Retool Your School Home Depot competition. Because they won the top prize of $50,000 last year, they are not eligible for the Tier 1 grants this year. However, they are eligible for the campus grant, which would be for the reseeding of their athletic fields. VOTE for Oakwood as often as possible. Subscribe to insideOakwood, OU's new enews service.

Fundamental Beliefs #23 from My Way to Jesus

Just "Click" to share your beliefs: The Fundamental Beliefs videos and other updates are shared on the My Way to Jesus Facebook page and from there onto the NAD Facebook page. Both updates link back to www.MyWaytoJesus.com, NAD's "seeker site." The site offers options such as sending a prayer request, enrolling in the Discover Bible Course, watching a beliefs video, and provides a connection to Adventist Information Ministry where people can chat with someone about spiritual issues or things that are troubling them. "Like" these pages on Facebook, and then share the updates with your friends.

You can share the Beliefs videos on your own website: Just go to www.vimeo.com/channels/didyouknow for the entire video series and click on the "Share" button in the upper right corner of a specific video for the embed code, or to share on social media or email it to a friend.

Someone Cares Prison Ministry; Children of Prisoners

Someone Cares Prison Ministry is a non-profit faith ministry that has been run by Seventh-day Adventists Don and Yvonne McClure for the past 20 years. They assist Christians who would like to reach out to inmates in major and minor prisons by providing a risk-free letter correspondence program. This is a ministry that almost anyone can participate in, whether home-bound or active. They will provide you with the name and a short description of an inmate who would like to write to a Christian individual. There is no need to divulge your personal information such as your address because you can send and receive letters through Someone Cares.  MORE

In the United States, there are more than 2.7 million children with a parent in prison. You can also help these children without leaving your home. Real magazine is raising $15,000 to print and mail 8,000 copies to children in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. MORE
